My last big trip of the summer was a road trip with my dad out to South Dakota. We spent 3 days in Custer State Park camping and taking in all the beauty of the Black Hills. Having never been to South Dakota, which seems ridiculous as I’ve lived in Minnesota for the past 22 years, I wanted to take in as much of the sights as possible. The first on our list being the Badlands.

I was amazed at how much the Badlands just appear out of no where. One second you’re looking at prairie and the next you’re looking over gorgeous rock formations. It was a great way to start off the trip, especially since we’d been in the car since 2 in the morning.
