Assisi...a see-saw.

Three Saturdays ago I went to the gorgeous hill-side town of Assisi, Italy, which is located in the Umbria region. It's about a three hour drive from Rome, and is totally worth seeing.

I went with AUR so we got a nice coach bus with movies to keep us entertained both there and back. When we got to Assisi we had a tour guide walk us around the town. Assisi is most well known for being the hometown of St. Francis, as well as St. Claire. We got to go to both of their churches, as well as seeing both of their tombs. After the tour, we ate lunch, strolled the streets, watched a cross-bow competition, and ended by playing on a playground. Successful day? I think so.

Here are some pictures:

Assisi.

Basilica di Santa Chiara.

Gorgeous view.

Flowers and doorways, two of my favorite things.

Basilica Papale di San Francesco d'Assisi.

Pax means peace in Latin. Also, the olive tree was planted by John Paul II.

The crew at Lunch. Clara, Vivi, Tonio, and Damian.

Pigeon. I really dislike them, but occasionally they make for good photos. :]

Crossbow! Yikes!

Arrows.

I'm coming down to the final stretch of my study abroad! :( But don't worry, I still have plenty to blog about! Ciao!
